For days they held the wishing back with buttressed dams and walls. There was concrete and sand all around, too much dust to see clearly. The dust is what led to the release of the wishing wall: the pillowy air too dedicated to its natural purpose, too similar in that way to us, to battle successfully.
When the wall came down, we bathed in the thin liquid we had feared and rejoiced for so long.
