  2. And thank you for the inspiration for today's post. I was not sure where to go, but then I knew because of you. (sounds like a Pooh quote, doesn't it?)

  3. Yes! One of my favorite locations of my traveling studio was at a hotelito on a mountain in Costa Rica––your fotos brought that place back to me. The wood.. what is it about writing surrounded by wood?

  4. Thank you Ms Kristen.

Logan, I wrote this phrase during a Helena Maria Viramontes visiting workshop many years ago: "the room is a warm intersection of Mexico and China." The exercise had us first walk in to our own living space, as a stranger, and describe it.

I always think the Mexico/China intersection an apt description of my aesthetic (all the wood and wrought iron), not to mention it echoes life in meaningful ways.

Anyway, for you to comment seems apropros (for me too, your posts have been so moving). I'm glad this brought back the hotelito to you.

  5. wood and paper. It's somehow maybe subconsciously like writing in a grove of trees?

I love how the photographs with the lights look as though you've tree sprites, too, keeping the room warm and safe for thoughts and words. I love your space.
